Octopus Buck

I went out to check one of my cameras the other day and was pleasantly suprised to find this big, mature Missouri bruiser on it. I decided to call him OCTOpus, because he is a main frame 8 and his tines are going everywhere. He has a lot of character!

I didn’t realize it at the time, but we are pretty sure that his is a buck that Ty and his buddy Andy almost got a crack at in 2006 a few miles away from where i got this picture. He looked to be at least a 4.5 THEN, which would make him 6.5 now. He does have a huge body, thats for sure!

What do you all think? Same buck?

One Response to “Octopus Buck”

  1. I always wondered what happened to that buck. That was a late Oct morning about 9:30 when Andy and I had that encounter with him. He came in soakin wet after crossing the river chasing a doe. As Andy reached for his bow I got the camera rolling a bleated him to a stop about 10 yards passed the shooting lane at 30 yards. Unfortunately, Andy had no shot and the buck took back off after the doe. The deer were really moving good that morning. After seeing him we ended up pulling an all dayer with one package of gummy bears and nothing to drink. We only seen one doe after 11:00. Man was that one long day on the stand. One I will never forget though!
